Terms of Use

Last updated: 18 October 2026

These terms are the user agreement for Hoffle at chat.hoffle.online and the Hoffle apps for iPhone, iPad, Android and desktop (together, "Hoffle"). Hoffle is run by Abdullah Türk ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using Hoffle you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use Hoffle.

Hoffle is also open-source software. If you run your own copy on your own server, these terms don't apply to that copy. Whoever runs it sets the rules there.

Who can use Hoffle

  • You must be at least 13 years old. If your country sets a higher age for using online services without a parent's consent (for example 16 in the Netherlands), you need to be that age, or have your parent's or guardian's permission.
  • You can have one account for yourself. Bots have to be set up through the bot tools, not as fake people.
  • You are responsible for what happens on your account. Keep your password safe and tell us if someone else gets into it.

Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abuse

Hoffle is a place to hang out with people. We do not tolerate objectionable content or abusive users. You must not post, send, stream or share anything, and must not use Hoffle to do anything, that:

  • harasses, bullies, threatens, stalks or intimidates anyone;
  • is hate speech, or attacks people because of race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation or age;
  • sexualises minors in any way. We report child sexual abuse material to the authorities;
  • is sexually explicit or pornographic content in any space where everyone present hasn't clearly agreed to it, or any sexual content involving someone who didn't consent;
  • shows or encourages graphic violence, terrorism, self-harm or suicide;
  • is spam, a scam, phishing, malware, or an attempt to break into accounts or servers;
  • shares someone's private information (doxxing) or intimate images without their consent;
  • breaks the law, or infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or other rights;
  • impersonates another person or organisation in a misleading way.

If you break these rules we may remove the content, mute you, remove you from servers, or suspend or delete your account, without warning in serious cases.

Reporting and blocking

  • Report a message: long-press it (or right-click on a computer) and choose Report. Reports go to the server's moderators and to us.
  • Block a person: open their profile and tap Block. You won't see their messages and they can't message you directly.
  • Contact us: email [email protected] about anything else, including illegal content, copyright complaints and appeals.

We review reports of objectionable content within 24 hours. If content breaks these terms, we remove it and act against the user who posted it.

Servers and moderators

Anyone can create a server and becomes its owner. Owners and the moderators they choose can set extra rules, remove messages and remove members in their server. They must still follow these terms. We can step in on any server.

Your content

You keep ownership of what you post. You give us a licence to store, copy, process and show your content only so far as needed to run Hoffle (for example to deliver your messages to the people you sent them to, make thumbnails, and keep backups). This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies in backups, which are deleted on their normal schedule, and content other people have already copied or quoted.

Files and voice/video streams go to the people in the conversation. Some features keep files for a limited time only (large file sharing deletes files after 12 hours).

Optional features

  • AI features (such as asking a question or summarising a channel) send the text you ask about to an AI provider to produce the answer. Only use them when you are fine with that. AI answers can be wrong.
  • Bots, games, music and watch-together features are provided as they are. Don't use them to share content you don't have the right to share.

Account deletion

You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Account & Password → Delete account. That deletes your account and, if you choose, your messages. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Hoffle is free and provided as is

Hoffle is free to use. It is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. It may be unavailable, change, or lose data at times. Keep your own copies of anything important. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for content posted by other users. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that can't be limited by contract.

App stores

If you got the Hoffle app from Apple's App Store, Apple is not a party to these terms and has no responsibility for Hoffle or its content, maintenance or support. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and can enforce them against you. Apple's standard licensed application end user licence agreement also applies where these terms don't say otherwise.

Changes and ending

We may update these terms. If a change is important we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using Hoffle after that, you accept the new terms. You can stop using Hoffle and delete your account at any time. We may end or suspend accounts that break these terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, except where the law of your country says otherwise for consumers.
