This policy explains what Hoffle at chat.hoffle.online and the Hoffle apps collect, why, and what you can do about it. Hoffle is run by Abdullah Türk, who is responsible for your data (the "controller"). Contact: [email protected].
The short version: we collect what's needed to run a chat app, nothing more. No ads, no tracking, no selling data, no analytics SDKs.
What we collect

We don't collect your contacts, location, or advertising identifiers, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.
Microphone, camera and photos
The app asks for the microphone for voice channels, calls and voice messages; the camera for video and taking photos to send; and your photos only when you pick a photo to send. You can turn these off in your phone's settings at any time.
Services that help run Hoffle
We share only what each one needs:
- Cloudflare: hosting network, security, and the "are you human" check on sign-up.
- Resend: sends password-reset and verification emails (your email address and the message).
- Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (Android) and Apple Push Notification service (iPhone): deliver notifications.
- Google Gemini: only when you use an AI feature (asking a question or summarising a channel). The text of your question and the messages it's about are sent to Google to produce the answer.
- Speech services: only if you turn on live captions or text-to-speech. The audio or text is sent to a speech provider to be converted. Captions can also be made by your own browser.
- Klipy: your GIF searches, when you search for GIFs.
- Link previews: when you post a link, our server fetches that page to show a preview. The site sees our server, not you.
Voice and video run on our own servers. We don't sell personal data or share it for advertising.
How long we keep things
- Your account and messages: until you delete them or your account.
- Large shared files: deleted after 12 hours.
- Server logs: kept briefly, normally a few weeks.
- Backups: overwritten on a rolling schedule, so deleted data disappears from them within about 30 days.
Deleting your account
Go to Settings → Account & Password → Delete account. That removes your account and profile, and you can choose to delete your messages too. You can also email us to ask.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU), you can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, object to or limit how we use it, and complain to your data protection authority (in the Netherlands, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens). To get a copy of your data yourself, go to Settings → Account & Password → Your data → Download my data. For anything else, email [email protected] and we'll answer within 30 days. We process data to provide the service you asked for (the contract), for our legitimate interest in keeping Hoffle secure, and with your consent for optional things like notifications.
Children
Hoffle is not for children under 13. If you think a child under 13 has an account, email us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy in an important way, we'll tell you in the app.
